RESEARCH INTERESTS AND EXPERIENCE
Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases with Epidemiology, Skin and Venereal Diseases (since 1981)
- Seven previously unknown clinical symptoms of infectious diseases are described. For the first time he developed thermographic semiotics of acute respiratory infections, viral hepatitis, food toxic infections, shigellosis, leptospirosis, herpes and other and suggested thermographic criteria for their differential diagnosis.
- Received new data on biochemical and immunological processes, endothelial dysfunction in cases of viral hepatitis, development of fetoplacental insufficiency in pregnant women with underlyined of hepatitis, risks of primary liver cancer. He deepened his knowledge about the mechanism of therapeutic action of various types of enterosorbents, antioxidants, hepatoprotectors, immunostimulators and substantiated the feasibility of their combined use in infectious diseases treatment.
- A method of colonosorption for acute intestinal infections, which significantly accelerates clinical recovery and provides remediation of the intestine from pathogenic microorganisms without additional use of antibacterial agents was suggested. The scientist has proved the possibility to increase the therapeutic efficiency of recombinant α-interferons and inducers of interferon in viral hepatitis, provided that the body is pre-detoxified with enterosorbents. Aerosol interferon therapy for acute respiratory viral infections was developed and a new domestic nucleic acid drug (nucleic acid) was first tested and their clinical efficacy was proved. The anti-leptospirosis allogeneic immunoglobulin was obtained and implemented into practice; as a result the mortality rate at severe forms of the disease was reduced in three times.
